Appointments

An appointment is required for non-urgent problems and every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time.

Emergencies will always be given priority. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing or you think you are having a stroke, Please call 000 for an ambulance or present directly to a hospital emergency department.

Standard consultations are 10 minutes or 15 minutes depending  on the general practitioner of your choice.  Long consultations are recommended for complex problems or more than 1 issue to discuss.  This will allow adequate time for the doctor to attend to your concerns.  Please ensure you present for your appointment on time.

Interpreter Service

TIS (translating and Interpreting Service) are available through our clinic.  If necessary, an on-site or telephone interpreter can be arranged, however at least 24 hours’ notice is required prior to your appointment time.

Cancellations

A minimum of two hours notice is preferred when cancelling or changing appointments but we understand things happen.  Please advise us if you cannot attend so that we could offer that spot to someone else.  Failure to advise this practice will result in a $40.00 non-attendance fee.

Fee Policy

The Doctors at HealthPlus are committed to providing the highest quality of medical care for all our patients.

Medicare rebates have not increased at the same rate as inflation, or the costs associated with running a private practice. Therefore, From 4 October 2022, management will be introducing private fee for all patients. This has been a difficult decision for us, and we understand it is also difficult for our patients.

Bulk billing will continue to be available for Pensioners, DVA and children under 16 years of age.

Patients who are experiencing financial difficulty, can discuss this with their doctor. Please note this is not a discussion to be had with reception staff.

It is practice policy that all accounts are settled in full on the day of your consultation. This practice offers Patient Claiming through medicare with immediate refund to your bank account.


We will continue to bulk bill the following appointments:
– GP Management Plans & Reviews 721/723
– Care Plan – Reviews 732/732
– Health Assessments
– Child Immunisations
– Pensions, DVA & Children under 16 years of age

First follow-up appointment within 14 days of your initial consultation with your Doctor is Bulk Billed.

Minor surgical procedures will be discussed with your Doctor and will incur an out of pocket fee of $60 in addition to the standard consultation fees.

Medicare TeleHealth Rebates require you to have a Face to Face appointment at our practice within the last 12 months, some exemptions apply.

Your rebate eligibility is your responsibility, if you are unsure please speak to a team member.

If you must cancel your appointment we respectfully ask you call the practice so the appointment can be offered to someone else.

Worker’s Compensation or CTP Appointments
Patient are responsible for all accounts until they provide a claim number from the insurance company. Contact details for the insurance company must be provided.

Credit Card and Eftpos available and we can process your medicare rebate on the spot.

Cancellation Policy

Please advise the practice if you wish to cancel your appointment so that it can be offered to someone else.

Failure to advise this practice will incur a $40.00 non-attendance fee.

PLEASE NOTE: 36hrs notice is required for all Psychology appointments.

Monday to Friday from 8am our phones are available to cancel/change appointments or make appointments.

Saturday- our phones are available from 8.30 am to cancel/change or make appointments

Patient appointments can only be made when outstanding fees have been paid in full.

HealthPlus is a private-billing practice and endeavours to provide patient care as needed.

Non-attendance of appointments causes patients to be disadvantaged and unable to be seen for a consultation.

Patient feedback and recommendations has resulted in the implementation of a fee to help manage our appointments.
